Goodbye 2015

I can't believe it's the last day of 2015!  We signed our legal contract on New Year's Day, and we close the year one day shy of 23 weeks pregnant.

We often get wrapped up in how fast time goes by, but when you reflect about all that happens in a year, you remember that 365 days is...actually a lot of time (I just started singing the 'Rent' song in my head)!  You have 365 days to fill with memories, laughter, happiness, heartbreak, disappointment, pure joy and every other emotion that humans endure.

Looking back on 2015, we definitely dealt with all of those emotions and more.  There was a milestone every month of this year.  It was non-stop for few months! I remember starting this year hoping hoping for a viable pregnancy by the end of the year.  We are all happy I got my wish!

Here is a recap of 2015 highlights:

Signed legal documents
Submitted paperwork to the state of Utah
Got approved by the state of Utah
Started on shots

Continued with shots
First embryo transfer

Chemical pregnancy

Waited for Alysha's cycle to regulate
Doctor appointments to make a plan for round 2

May AKA Worst Month!
More waiting! (We were supposed to be back on shots by this time, but the hormones mess you up so much it can take weeks for a woman's body to regulate)
Kristen/Rex/Evelina escaped to California

Finally ready to start on medication again and move on to round 2

Put BACK on hold because the medication made Alysha's uterus 'too' thick
Started back on shots for attempt 2.5

Perfect lining
Embryo Transfer

Confirmed one embryo attached properly
Miscarriage scare
Found the heartbeat

Graduated from our reproduction clinic to the midwife
Announced the pregnancy to friends and family

Gender ultrasound
Gender reveal party

Anatomy scan
Halfway mark
Launched our blog

Cheers to 2016! This has been a year of change, and I don't see it slowing down in 2016! Alysha sent me this photo today (22w6d).  HEARTS FOR EYES!!!
